Support Centre
Union Trials New Call Centre
The NDU is trialing a call centre/support centre for delegates and members over the next three months. The trial period is primarily aimed at the Auckland Region, although we welcome calls from other regions. The support centre is currently staffed by three organisers with many years of experience. The support centre staff will be able to answer inquiries regarding your workplace issues and your collective agreements. Should you leave a message during normal working hours 8.00am - 5.00pm the support centre staff will return your call the same day.
The trial so far has been a real success dealing with a broad range of issues from many different kinds of worksites. The support centre works closely with your site union organisers to ensure that you receive accurate and up to date information particularly during collective bargaining.
Here are just some of inquiries and issues that the support centre has dealt with so far:
- Personal grievances
- Unjustified dismissal
- Harassment in the work place
- Disciplinary action
- Holiday pay inquiries
- ACC inquiries
- New membership inquiries
- Hours of work
- Annual leave inquiries
We intend to trial longer hours over the three month period to ensure that our members are receiving the best possible service from this new venture. Please let us know what hours you feel would be beneficial for your worksite.
