Christchurch locked out distribution workers will holding a garage sale at the Shands Rd distribution centre at the Hallswall junction roundabout at 7am tommorow after 23 days without an income, says the National Distribution Union.

Christchurch organiser Graeme Young said that the lock out had been hard on families, but that donations totally over $180,000 from unions and the public were overwhelming.

Mr Young said that workers had rummaged around their possesions to find things to sell.

A local community support "club" would be joining the workers at a picket at the Church Corner Countdown in Christchurch at 9am.
